Payments and Marketing company PayWith Worldwide believes mobile payments will be brought to the world with Apple Pay leading the charge. They aren’t the only company to see the potential Apple Pay can bring to the mobile payment industry. PayWith CEO David Strebinger said, “Virtually every manufacturer except Apple has been incorporating NFC into their smart phones for quite some time. Apple’s announcement that the iPhone 6 is NFC enabled vindicates our business strategy.”
PayWith rewards cards – mCards – will be compatible to store within Apple’s digital wallet. Apple has a loyal following and strong influence on consumers which leads PayWith to conclude an increased adoption of mobile payments is on the horizon. In return, Strebinger hopes consumers and merchants will start to recognize the value of using PayWith reward cards. “It will certainly help position PayWith as the most rewarding way to pay. PayWith offers merchants a proprietary rewards, gifting and social media platform that consumers can universally enjoy,” said Strebinger.
PayWith is planning to release a quick and convenient NFC-based payment method dubbed “tap-to-pay” in early 2015. The PayWith App (and PayWith rewards cards) can be used anywhere traditional credit cards are accepted. “PayWith has built a rewards, loyalty and gifting platform based on its belief all smart phones would eventually be enabled with near field communication (NFC) to deliver a secure, fast and convenient way for consumers to transact with merchants,” said Strebinger.
Will digital payments and wallets be a reality for the masses sooner than expected? Time will tell.
