Excentus and Alliance Data Services (ADS) announced a new partnership through which ADS will provide “cobrand credit card services” to the Fuel Rewards Network (FRN) owned by Excentus. In plain language that means ADS will be issuing a MasterCard credit card branded with Fuel Rewards Network to add value to consumers using FRN to save money on fuel purchases at Shell gas stations.
The new cobrand card will reward cardholders $.25 off the price of each gallon of Shell fuel purchased for every $100 spend on the card, with a limit of 20 gallons per purchase.
The current base offer in FRN includes $.03 – .10/gallon rebate for for every $50 spend within a specified set of online merchants and for dining offers.
Previous to this announcement, FRN had offered a time limited opportunity for members to link any MasterCard to their FRN account to earn a one-time 5¢/gal bonus for linkage and an additional 5¢/gal for every $100 spend on the card. That offer was good through September 30, 2013.
Citi is the card issuer for other Shell cobrand cards, having renewed its agreement during 2011.
