Indian grocer Shoppers Stop emphasizes loyalty analytics to grow

Shoppers Stop is a leading department store operator in India with a national presence that counts 51+ stores in 22 cities.  The company is a loyalty leader as well, launching its Shoppers Stop First Citizen loyalty programme in 1994 as the first of its kind in the retail sector.

Shoppers Stop First Citizen loyalty programme has grown steadily and this press release indicates that the member based crossed the 2.5 million mark in mid 2012.

Now the company has announced that it is betting big on data analytics to drive further results from its loyalty programme. According to this announcement, First Citizen covers 71% of total revenues and is reinforcing the company’s commitment to its loyalty programme.

Shoppers Stop is also emphasizing its online presence to engage millennial shoppers. It currently has over 5 million Facebook fans and 63,000 Twitter followers.
